This petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court by the film’s co-producer ‘Cine 1 Studios’. On this petition, the High Court has now issued a notice to the film’s co-producers ‘Super Cassettes Industries Pvt. Ltd.’ and ‘Clever Max Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.’ (formerly Sony Pictures Networks Ltd.). Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, this film was released in theaters on December 1, 2023 and now it is to be released on Netflix on January 26.

What has Cine 1 Studios claimed?

Justice Sanjeev Narula said that the three defendants will also have to file affidavits accepting or rejecting the documents presented by the plaintiff, without which their written statements will not be recorded. Cine 1 Studios claimed breach of the agreement and said it had not been paid even a single rupee. Whereas Super Cassettes argued that Rs 2.6 crore was given to the plaintiff, which was not disclosed in the court. However, Cine 1’s lawyer said that the document presented in this regard is allegedly “prima facie fake and forged”.

The High Court fixed March 15 to complete the arguments in the case and made it clear that if any party unreasonably rejects the documents, it will be fined. The plaintiff said that both the production houses had entered into an agreement for the production of the film. ‘Cine 1’ claimed that under the agreement it had a 35 percent share in the profits and 35 percent intellectual property rights in the film. Meanwhile, senior advocate Amit Sibal, appearing for Super Cassettes, said that the plaintiff did not invest any money in the film and all the expenses were borne by his client.
